Embossing and Debossing

Embossing is the process of raising an image and creating a three-dimensional look on a flat two-dimensional sheet of paper. To accomplish this the press exerts enough pressure so that the counter die attached to the plate forces the stock into the relief die mounted on the toggle base, thus creating an image on the stock. Although it is possible to perform this with a cold die, the operation is usually carried out with a heated die using temperature controlled heating plates.

Embossing and debossing elevates your brand to new heights. Emboss can upgrade and build on almost any design—transform a flat image into a dimensional work of art. In addition to the visual impact, embossing and debossing creates a memorable tactile experience. From sculptured textures to more traditional single level techniques, we’ll work closely with you to ensure your piece truly stands above the rest. Even better? Embossing and debossing is one of the most budget-friendly finishing processes.
